Step into the spellbinding world of fan veils and discover how silk can transform your movement. In this workshop, we’ll explore working with silk fans in both dynamic, expansive phrases and slow, sultry, teasing moments—learning how to shift energy, texture, and intention with a simple flick of the wrist.

You’ll learn foundational fan veil techniques, including grips, pathways, spins, and wraps, then layer them into sensual movement that feels expressive, confident, and dramatic. We’ll play with contrast: sharp accents vs. melted control, big show-stopping visuals vs. intimate, smoldering tease. Expect flow, musicality, and plenty of time to embody the fantasy the silk creates around you.

11:00 - 12:00 Mid-tempo Jazz with Jo Monroe
Step into the golden age of jazz and learn how to make your dancing look unmistakably vintage. In this mid-tempo jazz workshop, Jo Monroe will guide you through a stylized combo set to classic-inspired jazz music, with a deep focus on the details that define true vintage jazz movement.

We’ll explore posture, rhythm, musicality, and texture—what to accent, what to melt through, and how to let the groove live in your body. Expect grounded movement, playful isolations, expressive arms, and that effortless cool that makes vintage jazz feel both relaxed and irresistible.

12:30 - 2:00 Africana Dance with Sparkle Leigh
This Africana Dance class celebrates movement shaped by the African diaspora—rhythmic, expressive, grounded, and rich with cultural depth. We’ll learn choreography to Davido’s “Unavailable” and KCEE’s “Feel It Africa,” blending Afrobeat foundations with a hip-hop edge for a high-energy, culturally rooted fusion. Expect fluidity, strength, musicality, and joyful intensity as we move with the vibrant pulse of the African diaspora.
